Well we all know about K-Rod and JJ, but when we got JJ we also got another reliever...Sean Green. JJ in his Met introduction interview said he was happy to have Sean on the Mets and that we will really like him. Omar even brought his name up during his interview on the MLB Network this weekend.
So the question really is...who is Sean Green?
Well...he is a 6'6" tall right handed relief pitcher who will be 30 in April.
When looking at what he did last year, I am not really that impressed. Here are his stats from last year:
IP: 79
Walks: 36
K: 62
Hits: 80
Record: 4-5
ERA: 4.67
Hit Batters: 6
Is it just me or is 80 hits in 79 innings not a good thing? Plus I don't like that walk total, especially for a reliever. You want a reliever to come in and get the job done. No walks or hit batters is a plus!!!
I will say that the Mariners did suck last year, so I guess we can see how he does on a much better team.
