No Respect for Delgado

Well Albert Pujols won the 2008 NL MVP, which I have issue with...Ryan Howard finished 2nd...not a huge issue with that, but his batting average is for crap. What is killing me is the lack of respect for Carlos Delgado. Manny Ramirez finished in 4th and he didn't even play 2 months in the NL. Are you kidding me?

Carlos Delgado, hands down, was the hottest hitter on the planet this summer. Starting with the HUGE game against the Yankees on June 27th, Delgado hit 26 home runs, had 80 rbi's, 20 double and had 86 hits. The old Delgado was back. If it wasn't for him this summer, the Mets would not even been in contention during the 2nd half of the year. The fact that Manny was ahead of him in the voting is a complete joke.

Actually David Wright hit .302, had 33 home runs, 124 RBI's, 115 runs, 15 steals, 42 doubles, .390 OBP, .924 OPS, Gold Glove

How did he not finish higher than 7th?

Umm, can you comment on why you "have issue with" Pujols winning the MVP? And don't give me the usual "his team didn't make the playoffs" bit, because the OFFICIAL CRITERIA given to voters when making their ballots doesn't mention playoffs:

1. Actual value of a player to his team, that is, strength of offense and defense.
2. Number of games played.
3. General character, disposition, loyalty and effort.
4. Former winners are eligible.
5. Members of the committee may vote for more than one member of a team.

Howard finishing 2nd is an absolute joke - he was no higher than the 6th or 7th most valuable player this year. Check out his early season numbers, when he played in games that count as much as those in September.

For me, Pujols is the best hitter on the planet, hands down. Even if he played for the yankees, I would say it. Watching him hit is like watching an artist at work.

For me, without Delgado, he Mets would not have had the turn around that they did this summer. Guys around him started playing better, because he was playing better. He was the MVP of the Mets this year hands down.

My issue is the fact that Manny and CC got more votes then him and they only played 2 months in the NL. To me that is disrespectful, not only to Delgado, but other NL players.
